During the fall of my first year at Northeastern, as a part of the club AeroNU, myself and two other students grouped together to model, simulate, build, and launch our own model rocket to 1000ft. This project was done over a period of 6 weeks, where we started by learning how to model and simulated the rockets using the open source software OpenRocket. To construct the rocket, we modeled the fins in Solidworks which were then laser cut. We also assisted in the machining of other parts, including the motor mount and the parachute deployment system. Finally, on November 2nd, 2019, we launched our rocket in Amesbury MA, where it reached just short of our 1000ft goal.
I am always looking to take on a new challenge. Message me on LinkedIn or send me an email below and let's get started!
