Hand Trajectory Prediction


In my senior year in high school, as a part of the Bandsaw Safety Device, I developed custom software using Python and OpenCV with an infrared/thermal camera to detect and threshold hands. This was accomplished by using a series of image processing operations including morphological transformations and thresholding. To predict the future location of hands, a simple kinematics model was fit to each hand, prediciting where it would be in the future based on its current position and velocity.
